Family Support Services of the Bay Area (FSSBA) is a private, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. FSSBA incorporated in 1989 and began providing services on January 1, 1990. Our mission is to help caregivers nurture their children and keep their families intact. Families Served (2008-2009)
Respite/Childcare: Over 1,300 children from more than 650 families received over 64,000 hours of care.
Family Preservation: 423 families with 888 children received 23,585 hours of service.
Kinship: Over 435 families received over 10,000 hours of services, including: information, referrals, case management, crisis intervention, support groups, and educational workshops. More than 268 youth activities were provided to 107 youth, totaling over 1,000 hours per child.
OreMi Mentoring: 56 mentor/mentee matches met a minimum commitment of 2 hours per week, and 180 hours of training were provided to mentors.
